What is a package unit?

A package unit puts the entire heating and cooling system into one outdoor cabinet rather than splitting it between an indoor air handler and an outdoor condenser. Conditioned air is ducted into and out of the house from that single cabinet. It is the standard configuration where there is no indoor space to put an air handler.

What types of package units do you install?

We install Armstrong Air package units, including the PRPGE16 gas and electric high-efficiency unit and the PRPHP16 high-efficiency package heat pump. Which one fits depends mainly on whether the property has gas service and how you want the heating side handled.

Can a package unit be installed at any home?

Not every home, but more than people expect. The property needs somewhere to place the cabinet, either a prepared pad beside the house or a rooftop location, and it needs duct connections that can reach it. We assess the site before quoting rather than assuming the existing setup will transfer.
